Because of the nature of my latest novel, coupled with the fact that I decided to go it alone in this instance and self-publish, I have been “looking forward” to the first reviews with something akin to terror. Many here, I know, followed the development of this novel and, so, I’m quite sure I don’t need to go over yet again just how important it was to me to write it exactly as I felt it needed to be written – whatever the ultimate outcome. It was remembering this, remembering the promise I made to myself when I committed to writing it, that, I think, was at the heart of my deciding to give it the chance I felt it ultimately deserved.
It was therefore with some trepidation that I today headed over to the Novel Suggestions website to read the first review of Children of the Resolution. A snippet follows (click on quotation text below – or here – to read the full review) – and, naturally, I’m over the moon with it. It’s always incredibly satisfying when a reviewer sees exactly what I was trying to accomplish.

Good evening Gazza! How thick am I? Don’t say very! I’ve just realised that after losing all the links on my site I forgot to stick you back on. Despite popping over here regularly using a different bookmark. Apologies, mate, order will be resumed.
Good luck with the new book!
Absolutely no problem, mate!
All done! How about a guest blog next week to promote your new book? Drop me an email if you fancy.
That would be great, mate! Will e-mail you.
